The diet has been known since 1985. It was originally developed by General Motors in conjunction with the Food and Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture. Its goal is to increase the workforce, making people healthier. The diet is easy to follow, as it involves daily consumption of products known to you that burn stored fat. In addition, you are not engaged in complex preparations of your food.

How does General Motors' plan work?

The focus is on limiting the weekly menu by eating only fruits, vegetables, chicken and brown rice. The diet focuses on the intake and combination of useful complex carbohydrates, low-calorie vegetables and fruits and increasing the amount of water to achieve weight loss of up to 8 pounds in 7 days.

Weekly menu

DAY 1

 

On the first day of the diet, eat as much fruit as you want. Watermelons and melons are recommended because they are high in fiber. Other healthy solutions are papaya, apples, oranges. Also, drink 8 to 12 glasses of water during the day. It is not recommended to fast at any time.

About the menu :

  • 8-9 hours - an apple and a glass of water;
  • 11-12 hours - half a bowl of melon and a glass of water;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - a slice of watermelon and two glasses of water;
  • 16 -17 hours - orange and a glass of water;
  • 18: 30-19 hours - apple and a glass of water;
  • 20 -21 hours - melon and guava with two glasses of water.
DAY 2

 

On the second day you should eat only vegetables. It doesn't matter if they are cooked or raw, it is important not to use fat.

  • 8-9 hours - breakfast: boiled potatoes;
  • 11-12 hours - brunch: lettuce salad, cabbage and a light dressing (lemon and a little olive oil), a glass of water;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - lunch: salad of cucumbers, onions, carrots and two glasses of water;
  • 16-17 hours - breakfast: a bowl of boiled broccoli, half a bowl of peppers and two glasses of water;
  • 18: 30-19 hours - brunch: a little boiled cauliflower with a light dressing and a glass of water;
  • 20-21 hours - dinner: salad of boiled carrots, broccoli, green beans and two glasses of water.
DAY 3

 

On the third day, combine vegetables and fruits, following a similar example as on the second day, but avoid eating potatoes and bananas.

The combination of fruits and vegetables will help you fully adapt to the diet and will provide you with a high content of fiber, nutrients and protein.

About the menu :

  • 8-9 hours - half a bowl of melon or apple and 2 glasses of water;
  • 11-12 hours - half a pineapple or pear with 2 glasses of water;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - salad of cucumber carrot, lettuce and 2 cups of water;
  • 16-17 hours - orange and melon and a glass of water;
  • 18: 30-19 hours - pear and a glass of water;
  • 20 -21 hours - boiled broccoli and red beets with 2 glasses of water.
DAY 4

 

 

The forbidden fruit is finally allowed! Eight bananas are eaten during this day, distributed between breakfast and dinner. Also drink one large glass of milk three times - for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also include a bowl of soup.

About the menu :

  • 8-9 hours - two large bananas and a glass of milk;
  • 11-12 hours - banana shake (use 1 banana), you can add a teaspoon of honey or sweetener;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - General Motors Soup Cup (DM);
  • 16-17 hours - banana shake;
  • 18: 30-19 - two small bananas;
  • 20-21 hours - two large bananas and a glass of milk.
DAY 5

 
Vegetarians can choose a cup of brown rice, and people who eat meat can easily include a source of protein from lean species such as chicken breast or fish. The menu also includes 6 large tomatoes.

Unlike the previous days of strong restrictions, this one will make you feel like a feast. Use a minimum amount of fat to prepare the rice. To combat the higher uric acid concentration, you will need to increase your water intake to 15 glasses. You can also consume 6 eggs and other different sources of protein - yogurt, dairy foods. Fruits are also allowed, except for bananas.

The amount of chicken or fish per day is 500 grams.

About the menu :

  • 8-9 hours - a few small tomatoes with a bowl of red beans and two glasses of water;
  • 11-12 hours - a glass of yogurt and two glasses of water;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - a bowl of brown rice with chicken breast / fish, two tomatoes and two glasses of water;
  • 16-17 hours - salad of onions and sprouts with 2 cups of water;
  • 18: 30-19 hours - apple or pear;
  • 20-21 hours - DM soup and two glasses of water.
DAY 6

 

 

On this day you can eat all kinds of vegetables and brown rice, chicken and fish.

Vegetables should be cooked and no heavy dressings should be added to salads. By the sixth day, you should have noticed weight loss, and this will give you extra motivation to complete the diet.


About the menu :

  • 8-9 hours a bowl of boiled vegetables and two glasses of water;
  • 11-12 hours - a bowl of red beans, 1 tomato and spices, two glasses of water;
  • 13: 30-14 hours - a bowl of brown rice with chicken or fish, DM soup and two glasses of water;
  • 16-17 hours - 3-5 baby carrots and a glass of water;
  • 18: 30-19 hours - a bowl of DM soup and a glass of water;
  • 20-21 hours - a bowl of steamed vegetables and a glass of water.
DAY 7

 

Bowl of brown rice, vegetables and fruit juice. You can eat a bowl of rice and an unlimited amount of vegetables. And fruit juice should be taken after each meal.

About the menu :

8-9 hours - vegetables in a small bowl and a tea cup of apple or orange juice;

11-12 hours - a bowl of DM soup, a small portion of carrots and a glass of water;

13: 30-14 hours - a bowl of brown rice, a bowl of cooked vegetables and two glasses of water;

16-17 hours - a few carrots and a glass of kiwi juice;

18: 30-19 hours - a salad of various vegetables and two glasses of water;

20-21 hours - a bowl of DM salad and two glasses of water.
