7 Simple And Delicious Sandwiches Without Bread

A sandwich is the best option for a quick and satisfying snack, and do not think that bread is its main ingredient.

A sandwich is the best option for a quick and satisfying snack, and do not think that bread is its main ingredient. In fact, bread is just a binder, and it can be replaced with anything: vegetables, lettuce, hard cheese, and even potatoes. We have put together a few ideas for healthy and nutritious sandwiches without bread for you.

1. Potato sandwiches

If you're crazy about hearty sandwiches, but strongly against bread, try using a baked potato cut lengthwise as a base. It holds its shape well and goes well with any ingredients. Potatoes can be stuffed with chopped sausages, bacon, chopped herbs, grated hard cheese, tomatoes and sauce. You can bake the potato base separately or put the whole sandwich in the oven for 45 minutes: then the cheese will melt and the bacon will turn out more fragrant.

An alternative option is to boil the potatoes until half cooked, then stuff them with your favorite foods and bake them in the oven. For a detailed recipe on how to make a potato sandwich, read here.

2. Burger with tomato

A firm tomato can serve as an excellent base for a sandwich. It is enough to cut it in half, remove the core and fill it with your favorite ingredients. It can be a cutlet, lightly fried chicken fillet, parmesan, onion rings and lettuce. Such a burger can be heated in the microwave or oven, its taste and aroma will amaze everyone. Don't forget the spices, herbs and salt - add flavor!

3. Tomato Burger #2

The usual bun can be replaced with a tomato cut into several layers and a ball of mozzarella. You get a multi-layered healthy sandwich with just two ingredients. For a more interesting taste, we recommend adding a little balsamic vinegar, garlic or pesto sauce.

4. Pepper Sandwich

To prepare such a sandwich, find a bell pepper that is suitable in size and cut it in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and stuff it with goodies: bacon, boiled chicken, avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, meatballs and green leaves. Add sauce. The main thing is that you like it.

5. Green burger

Vegans will appreciate this recipe - the most delicious and nutritious burger without meat and cheese. It is enough to form boats from Chinese cabbage leaves, stuff them with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers - and a cool healthy snack is ready! For a more satisfying option, you can add a little boiled beans.

6. Chicken breast sandwich

For the most insatiable, we offer an incredibly nutritious sandwich. To prepare it, instead of a bun, it is enough to take halves of boiled or grilled chicken fillet. It is best to start such a sandwich with vegetables, avocados, mushrooms, mozzarella and herbs.

7. Vegetable boats

As a basis for such a sandwich, you can take eggplant, zucchini or even a large cucumber. It is enough to cut the vegetable in half lengthwise, clean the core and stuff it with everything that is in the house: cheese, boiled eggs, minced meat, chopped herbs, finely chopped vegetables or mushrooms. Do not forget to generously pour the sauce over the boats and put them in the oven for a few minutes. PS If you take an eggplant, do not forget to pre-soak it in salted water so that the boats do not taste bitter.
