Acromegaly is a neuroendocrine disease that is associated with dysfunction of the adenohypophysis. In such a health problem, nutrition should focus on the consumption of products containing estrogen, carbohydrates and calcium.
Acromegaly is a disease of neuroendocrine nature that is associated with dysfunction of the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland). As a result of the disease, after the growth of the organism stops, the limbs and the skull suddenly start to enlarge.
In such a health problem, nutrition should focus on the consumption of products containing estrogen, carbohydrates and calcium. Estrogen helps to slow down and can completely stop the excess production of growth hormone. Calcium helps strengthen bones that become brittle and fragile due to overgrowth. Weakened joints and cartilage, which are severely affected by acromegaly, should also be strengthened.
Estrogen is also present in beer, but this drink should not be consumed in large quantities.
Saturated broths, jelly meats and fish, fruit jellies are suitable for strengthening and prevention of joints. When preparing meat dishes, do not remove cartilage, tendons and bones (bone marrow is useful), cook with meat and eat. They contain mucopolysaccharides, which are needed for healthy bones and tendons. Eat lots of raw vegetables - they are sources of vitamins that help in the synthesis of cartilage. Salads seasoned with vegetable fats are useful - they help eliminate the inflammatory process thanks to unsaturated fatty acids.
As for calcium, in order to enrich the body with it, the menu should include seafood (sardines, shrimp, mussels, mackerel) and more dairy products.
To stop the excessive production of growth hormone will help carbohydrates but in moderation. It is, therefore, necessary to adopt:
Drink mineral water (non-carbonated) - it will help remove harmful salts from the body.
The products must be stewed or cooked in foil, not marinated, smoked or salted.
