The flavonoids present in the almond peel, in combination with vitamin R, help reduce inflammation in the arteries and prevent plaque buildup. They have a cholesterol-lowering effect and are especially useful for people with high cholesterol and diabetes.
Nuts are an excellent source of alkaline elements that boost the immune system. They improve the general condition and protect against various health problems. Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant found in almonds, removes free radicals in the body and helps reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Phosphorus found in almonds has a significant effect on the strength of teeth and bones, while preventing the onset of age-related problems such as osteoporosis.
Nuts help improve digestion. Almonds enhance the movement of food through the intestines, preventing any residue and subsequent risk of cancer of the colon.
Unsweetened almonds are an ideal option for inclusion in the diet menu. Monounsaturated fats and the fiber in them create a feeling of satiety for a long time, although small amounts of nuts are consumed. Studies show that people who regularly eat almonds are more likely to maintain their weight than those who do not eat them at all.
