Alzheimer's patients need to consume products containing vitamins from groups B1, B6 and B12, C, E, beta-carotene, selenium, zinc, coenzyme Q10 and niacin (B3).

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disease in which there is a breakdown of mental functions due to involvement of the cerebral cortex. It is named after a German psychiatrist who first described the condition in 1906.

Useful foods for Alzheimer's disease

The patient should take antioxidant products - they kill free radicals entering the body with harmful foods or those of poor quality, thus preventing premature aging and tissue damage. It is necessary to consume products containing vitamins from groups B1, B6 and B12, C, E, beta-carotene, selenium, zinc, coenzyme Q10 and niacin (B3). These useful substances are found in:

  • fatty varieties of fish, lamb, beef, liver and chicken;
  • egg yolks;
  • dairy products;
  • vegetable fats: olive oil, linseed oil;
  • vegetables - cabbage (especially sour), olives, tomatoes, corn, peppers, carrots, beets;
  • fruits and berries - apricots, oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, rose hips, viburnum, buckthorn, grapes, avocados, apples, pomegranates, kiwis, black currants, melons;
  • leafy vegetables and spices - spinach, dill, parsley, thyme, basil, rosemary, oregano, horseradish;
  • cereals - oats, wheat, rice, barley, millet, buckwheat;
  • Pasta;
  • mushrooms - white mushrooms and mushrooms;
  • nuts and seeds;
  • bread with bran and whole grains;
  • cereals and legumes;
  • bee products - honey, pollen, oil with propolis, royal jelly;
  • dried fruits - prunes, raisins, apricots;
  • water and freshly squeezed juices.
 

Dangerous and harmful foods in Alzheimer's disease:

  • too greasy, salty and sweet food;
  • alcohol;
  • semi-finished and semi-finished foods, canned food, smoked products, products containing E.

All of these products contribute to the appearance of plaques and nodules in brain neurons.
