Lunch should include not the most affordable and delicious, but the most complete foods.
For a very large number of people today, the term lunch is associated with an interval of 1 hour in which they can give up work and eat. In most cases, even this process requires staying in the office or eating something quickly on foot. It is this group of people who often do not have the opportunity to break the limitations of office meals and reach for foods that are most affordable.
Lunch, however, is not just eating, but meeting the body's physiological needs for a variety of nutrients . This is the main meal of the day with a key role in our energy balance. So it should not include the most accessible and most - complete foods .
This requires many of the foods we normally eat at lunch to be dropped from our menu.
Pasta
All types of pasta, lined with very tasty sauces, create a feeling of satiety and satisfaction - a very typical effect of refined fast carbohydrates and trans fats . In addition, however, the paste leads to a very rapid depletion of energy and accelerates the onset of fatigue and drowsiness - an effect that often ruins our productivity in the afternoon. If your lunch break is not 2 hours and if you do not have the opportunity for short nap in the afternoon, do not include pasta in your lunch menu.
Vegetable soup
Fresh vegetable soups are among the most useful foods in terms of high content of all vitamins and trace elements and their very low caloric content. They are a very good choice for dinner, especially when you need to lose weight. However, choosing only vegetable soup for lunch is among the most unjustified decisions. The reason for this is precisely the low caloric content and lack of enough protein in these soups. Thus, their saturating effect is very short and it is impossible to maintain our energy supply at a level throughout the afternoon. In such cases, we often compensate for a light lunch with an afternoon breakfast , the nutritional value of which is rather negative.
Garden salad
This is probably the most preferred lunch by people who adhere to a healthy diet. But also the most wrong when consumed alone. If it is not a choice imposed by the fight against obesity , only a salad for lunch can not satiate a healthy person, regardless of gender. It contains neither enough calories nor protein to keep us full in the afternoon and, like soups, often increases our tendency to make up for a high-calorie afternoon snack. Both salads and vegetable soups, however, are extremely suitable choices for garnishing a main course consisting of tender chicken , turkey or pork.
We will not dwell on burgers, donuts and other similar fast food products at all, because the lack of any health benefits from their regular consumption is well known. Even the shortest lunch break is not so short as not to offer an opportunity to find an alternative to this type of food.
