Benefits Of Juices

In this article, learn more about Benefits Of Juices. Benefits of juices for our body..

Everyone loves juice, but not everyone knows what packaged juices are made of. And there is always not enough time to make freshly squeezed juice . Is there a way out of this situation and what juices are better to drink?

 Juices and non-juices

"To be objective, everything that is sold in packages is still not exactly juice, regardless of what is written on the package. Both juice and nectar are actually just a fruit drink. Juice is what is squeezed directly from the fruit. And what is sold in bags and bottles is a drink prepared from fruit pulp and water.

Packaged juice differs from nectar in the content of natural components, for example, fruit puree. It should be at least 70 percent in juice, and at least 30 percent in nectar. Others are water, sugar and other additives.

In search of vitamins

All packaged or bottled juices and nectars must undergo heat treatment. And any heat treatment, even if it is very short, causes oxidation and destruction of vitamins.

The longer this treatment lasts, the less vitamins remain in the juices. Nevertheless, even in pasteurized juices there are vitamins and other useful substances, and it is not necessary to give them up completely. But watch the amount of sugar in the drink. The nutritional value of freshly squeezed juice decreases over time in the same way. The longer the juice stands, the less useful substances remain in it.

"It is recommended to drink it in the first 15 minutes after preparation. In the future, due to contact with oxygen, it oxidizes, and vitamins begin to break down.

Which juices are more useful?

Freshly squeezed juice can be prepared from any vegetables and fruits, with the exception of potatoes or coconuts, which already have their own milk. A good invigorating cocktail will be combinations of juices, sometimes even completely unexpected ones. "By combining juices, you can increase the nutritional value of the finished product," explains the nutritionist.

Pay special attention to what grows in your area. For example, in the middle zone of Russia, undeservedly little attention is paid to sea buckthorn - and it is a real champion in terms of nutrient content. In its fresh form, sea buckthorn is not always suitable for food, but if you make juice from it, the taste can be improved by adding juice from other berries or fruits. There are other berries that are not the most delicious, but very useful, for example, red and white currants. You can also prepare juices enriched with the addition of other fruits from them.

And ordinary carrot juice goes well with apple, orange or celery juice. The latter is not very traditional for our table, but it tastes good and is rich in vitamins.

Why carrot cream?

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to add fat - cream or milk - to carrot juice. "It cannot be said that the beta-carotene contained in carrot juice cannot be absorbed without fat, but with fat it is absorbed 30 percent better."

True, we are talking only about the case if carrot juice is drunk strictly on an empty stomach. If the juice is consumed during the day, then fat from food is enough for the assimilation of carotene.

How much is possible?

Do not use juices in "impact" doses - this leads to indigestion. Freshly squeezed juices contain a large number of biologically active substances, including those that have a laxative or choleretic effect.

In addition, an allergic reaction may occur to a large amount of juice. 200 ml of any fresh juice per day is quite enough.

Juices as a substitute

It is recommended to consume 600 g of vegetables, fruits, berries and greens per day. However, juice is not a squeeze of absolutely everything useful. A glass or two of juice will not replace fruits and vegetables for several reasons.

1. There is practically no fiber in freshly squeezed juices, which is necessary for the normalization of digestion - it mainly remains in the waste of squeezing.

2. Sweet fruit juices contain quite a lot of sugar, which is easy to consume. After all, drinking a glass of juice is much easier and faster than eating half a kilogram of sweet pears.

3. Hard fruits and vegetables, such as apples and carrots, help to naturally clean teeth, strengthen gums and promote salivation. This continues the health of the teeth.

The most important thing

Juices from packets are not exactly juices, but drinks made from fruit or vegetable puree and water. It is better to prepare freshly squeezed juices from local fruits, vegetables and berries and drink them in the first 15 minutes after squeezing. A glass of any freshly squeezed juice per day is quite enough, and juices cannot replace vegetables and fruits.
