Brown Rice - Good For The Nervous System

Brown rice improves the functioning of the nervous system, prevents constipation, improves heart health, etc.

Brown rice contains omega-3 fatty acids, fiber , protein, pantothenic acid, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, manganese and selenium.

Due to the numerous nutrients it possesses, brown rice has the following properties:

1. Improves the functioning of the nervous system

Brown rice is good for the proper functioning of the brain and nervous system. This is due in part to the presence of vitamin B and some important minerals such as manganese and magnesium in brown rice. It also contains vitamin E, which plays an important role in preventing brain diseases caused by oxidative damage.

2. Improves sleep quality

Brown rice stimulates the production of the hormone melatonin, which promotes natural deep and restful sleep . It also contains B vitamins, which help improve the sleep cycle. Rice also improves the quality of sleep by relaxing the nerves.

3. Protects against free radicals

Due to the presence of selenium and manganese in brown rice, the levels of two powerful natural antioxidants in the body increase: superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase, which protect the body from oxidation and inflammatory processes. They also have the ability to eliminate toxins from the body and prevent DNA damage .

4. Prevents constipation

Brown rice is an excellent source of insoluble fiber, which improves bowel movements and prevents constipation. It is a better choice than white rice, as the latter is very low in fiber and can therefore even cause constipation. Thus, brown rice is also ideal for reducing the risk of obesity, as it controls appetite and improves metabolism.

5. Improves heart health

Brown rice is rich in selenium, good for the heart. Its consumption is associated with a reduced risk of clogging the arteries due to the accumulation of plaque. This in turn reduces the chance of heart disease such as hypertension.

The benefits of brown rice do not end there. It is useful for controlling diabetes, preventing Alzheimer's disease , controlling cholesterol levels, preventing cancer, boosting immunity and improving bone health.
