Cardamom is the third most expensive spice in the world. It contains protein, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, potassium, manganese, and many other minerals.
Research shows that the spice is effective in lowering blood pressure. On it, patients had to consume cardamom every day for 12 weeks. As a result, they had a drop in blood pressure at both the upper and lower limits.
The spice is naturally rich in antioxidant compounds that help prevent the development of plaque on the walls of blood vessels. It should be noted, however, that there are different types of cardamom - black and green variety. When it comes to improving heart health, the black variety is considered more effective. Regular consumption of cardamom is associated with the treatment of bad breath, but also the overall improvement of oral health. This is due to the spice's ability to fight bacteria in the mouth that cause bad breath in the mouth, in addition to preventing them from growing and spreading.
