The diet that should be followed for chickenpox reduces the level of toxins in the body, irritating the skin and mucous membranes of the digestive tract.

Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by the herpes virus. Affects mucous membranes and skin cells. It is transmitted by airborne droplets from person to person.

As with the course and treatment of any disease, nutrition is also important. The diet that must be followed reduces the level of toxins in the body, irritating the skin and mucous membranes of the digestive tract.

Useful products for chickenpox:

  • cream soups (for example, broccoli or cauliflower), cereal soups (oats, rice, wheat bran, barley) - help with the process of swallowing;
  • freshly squeezed vegetable juices diluted with water (for example, carrot and celery juice, pumpkin) - strengthen immunity;
  • dishes of dairy products (lactic acid and porridge, skimmed cottage cheese) - easily digested during the course of the disease;
  • products with hypoallergenic properties (buckwheat porridge, semolina, barley, oats, rice; corn, rice bread, also buckwheat;
  • yogurt products (natural yogurt without sugar, kefir) - normalize the digestive tract;
  • non-sour berries, fruits (sweet apples, apricots, blueberries, bananas, avocados);
  • vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, Brussels sprouts and cabbage, cucumbers, broccoli, pumpkin, spinach, dill, parsley);
  • baked apples and pears;
  • boiled water, light blackcurrant tea without sugar, cranberry juice, herbal infusions and decoctions (mint, chamomile, lemon balm, rose hips) - liquids remove toxins from the body, inflammatory products and pathogens.

Sample menu

Harmful products for chickenpox:

  • sour fruits (kiwi, cherries), citrus (lemon, grapefruit, orange, tangerines, etc.) - irritate the oral mucosa;

  • sharp spices, marinades with vinegar, smoked products - when directly absorbed into the blood irritate the skin further;
  • fatty fish and meat, fried foods - difficult to digest and increase the level of toxins;
  • garlic, onions, radishes, turnips - irritate the skin;

  • allergen products (eggs, strawberries, nuts, etc.);
  • undigested milk - causes bloating and increases inflammatory processes.
