In this article, learn more about Combining Foods - Eat The Fruit Alone. Fruits are most useful before meals or at least 2 hours after the main menu..
After reviewing the general principles of healthy food combination and pointing out why protein and carbohydrates should not be combined in one meal, it is time for a few specific recommendations.
It is clear that there are foods that are broken down and digested by similar enzymatic mechanisms and can be taken simultaneously without the risk of overloading the stomach and intestines. However, there are some that are recommended to consume alone. This will allow optimally fast absorption of their useful ingredients. Among these foods are fruits - one of the most useful foods , which, however, we often consume in not the healthiest and most appropriate way.
Regarding fruit, nutritionists and nutrition experts give 2 important recommendations. Observing them will allow us to get the most out of the fruit - to recharge with energy and nutrients and to protect against discomfort and heaviness in the stomach after eating.
There are few more suitable desserts after any main meal than fresh and juicy fruits. However, it turns out that this habit is as pleasant for the palate as it is annoying for the stomach and intestines.
Most fruits are rich in simple and very easily digestible carbohydrates. They can be broken down and fully absorbed in just 20-30 minutes . In addition, simple sugars are the first nutrients to enter the bloodstream after a meal and saturate it with glucose. On the one hand, this slows down the metabolism of other foods that we have consumed, and on the other - makes the body store unnecessary energy from them in the form of fat in body depots.
And since the fruits are broken down and assimilated faster than other foods, it is best to eat them alone and preferably on an empty stomach.
In addition to straining the stomach and intestines after a meal, the fruits also pose another risk if consumed after the main menu and especially after dinner. In these cases, the fruit stays in the stomach longer than necessary, which triggers fermentation processes , leading to one of the most common stomach complaints.
Increased gas formation during fruit fermentation leads to bloating , a feeling of heaviness and discomfort. Regular consumption of fruit late at night is a major cause of prolonged complaints of constipation and irregular stomach. Therefore, fruits late at night are not a recommended choice.
Although not easily combined with other staple foods, fruits should be consumed regularly . They offer the most affordable source of vitamins, trace elements and available energy when needed. The only condition is to be consumed on their own, preferably before or at least 2 hours after a meal, so that they are completely useful and do not interfere with the work of the stomach and intestines, engaged in the processing of more complex foods.
