Diet Number 1A Or How To Eat After Acute Gastritis?

Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining, treatment of this condition includes medication and diet

Diet number 1 is designed for people with chronic diseases of the stomach and duodenum. As for diet number 1A, it is a transitional diet, applied for 7 to 10 days in acute or exacerbated gastritis, peptic ulcer disease or after abdominal surgery.

 

Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining, accompanied by pain and burning behind the sternum (sternum). Inflammation can be caused by short-term or chronic exposure to damaging factors and is divided into acute and chronic gastritis, respectively.



Spring is the time of acute gastric crises, which is most often due to food. This condition is successfully treated with medication and diet. Diet is especially important after acute gastritis.

 

Diet number 1A

is part of the healing diet. It includes liquid-porridge foods, mainly milk-egg purees, creams with flour and starch, pureed meats such as chicken, beef, vegetable purees, juices and compotes. All stomach irritants such as tomatoes, spicy foods, mustard, lemon and vinegar dressings, chocolate, honey, fried foods, etc. are excluded.

 

The diet is characterized by low energy value , limited amounts of salt and foods that increase gastric secretion (irritating foods). Very cold and hot dishes are not recommended.

 

The purpose of the diet is to protect the gastric mucosa by limiting chemical and mechanical irritations. The diet contains enough complete proteins, fats and carbohydrates, as well as more vitamin C and B1. Regarding the heat treatment, only classic cooking or steaming is allowed. The food is strained and a small amount of salt is added.

 

The meal is divided into 5-6 small portions. Overeating is not allowed in any case.


The energy imports and the chemical composition of the menu are precisely defined. Intake of protein (60 - 70% of animal origin) 100 to 110 g per day, fat 100 to 110 g per day, carbohydrates - 200 to 300 g per day, no more than 7-8 g of salt. The caloric value of the diet should not exceed 3000 calories. 

 

Recommended foods .

Bread and pasta are not particularly recommended, rusks of white wheat flour in small quantities are allowed.

 

Soups. They are extremely suitable for this diet. Milk porridges with oats or other nuts, rice, semolina are recommended, a small amount of butter is allowed, as well as eggs. Cream soups of fresh vegetables such as potatoes, zucchini, carrots, chicken soups, fish.

 

Main dishes. Different types of meat are present in the main dishes. It is important that it is not greasy. Minced meat, beef, beef, rabbit, chicken, puddings, rolls, skinless chicken, lean fish are used. All types of meat must be prepared by boiling or steaming. Frying is strictly forbidden. Meat is consumed only once a day and it should be in the form of souffle or puree.

 

Eggs are also a good food. They must be lightly cooked or cooked as an omelet.
Milk and dairy products are also allowed - yogurt (day leaven), cottage cheese, desalinated cheese.

 

Vegetables. The diet includes vegetables that do not irritate the stomach such as potatoes, zucchini, carrots, pumpkin. They are consumed only boiled.


All fried foods as well as raw fruits and confectionery are excluded from the diet. Sauces and spices are also not allowed in the diet. 

 

Beverages such as coffee , cocoa, carbonated beverages, alcohol should not be consumed. You can decide which foods to exclude or add to your menu. Foods that irritate your stomach should be avoided.

 

Here is a sample menu for diet number 1A:

  • 1st breakfast: oatmeal with fresh milk, or 2 soft-boiled eggs.
  • 2nd breakfast: milk
  • Lunch: Soup can be chicken, potato cream soup, slimy oatmeal soup, beef, chicken - steamed
  • Afternoon snack: milk cream with semolina, starch, a piece of cheese or cottage cheese
  • Dinner: rice milk porridge, milk, cream soups.

 

Meat should be present in only one meal. To compile your menu, you can be guided by the permitted and prohibited foods and the fact that their preparation can only be by cooking.
