The wild plum is similar to the garden plum . Its different types differ in shape, color and taste (you are yellow, green and red). This fruit is used in the preparation of various dishes. It is extremely rich in biologically active substances carotene, anthocin, pectin; and the content of vitamin C is not less than in rose hips.

The unripe fruit of the tree contains a large amount of citric acid (up to 14% dry weight), which can be extracted very easily. Ripe plums contain 4-5% sugars, organic acids, pectin, vitamins. The combination of all these substances is very balanced and the various spices prepared by them help the absorption of fats and meat by the body.

Interestingly, the chemical composition of wild plum is , to some extent, related to the color of the fruit. The yellow varieties have an extremely high content of sugars and citric acid, and there are almost no tannins. Prunes are rich in pectin.
