Does Coffee Wake Us Up In The Morning? Because That's What We Think

Invigoration and faster reflexes early in the morning can be achieved without drinking caffeinated coffee.

Many people rely on a cup of coffee to give a successful start to the day, but according to research, the claim that a caffeinated drink wakes us up early in the morning is largely due to mental attitude.

To prove it, British scientists are conducting an experiment. Volunteers consume decaffeinated coffee but think they are drinking caffeinated coffee . However, there was a significant improvement in their mood and performance , the research team explained.

From a series of tests to measure their mental activity, it is clear that the reaction time and mood of decaffeinated coffee drinkers is significantly better than that of caffeine consumers.

According to scientists, the effect of the invigorating drink is to some extent due to the expectation and mental attitude of the consumer that a cup of coffee will stimulate faster awakening and reactions.

The study was conducted by experts from the University of East London. It involves 88 people between the ages of 18 and 47 - coffee lovers, drinking at least 2 cups of coffee a day.

The results are published in the journal Appetite .

Caffeine is known to be a stimulant that affects the brain and can "fight" drowsiness and fatigue .

A number of studies have shown the benefits of coffee consumption for various diseases and conditions. Some studies, for example, suggest that drinking the drink regularly significantly reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease , possibly by triggering a chain reaction in the brain that protects against injury.

Undoubtedly, caffeine has health benefits, but it is not completely harmless. According to a study, over-consumption of caffeine carries a risk of addiction.

Some of the signs of caffeine addiction include anxiety, chest pain, fatigue, nausea and headaches .

According to studies, 50% of coffee consumers experience a withdrawal syndrome when trying to give up the drink.

Let's not forget that any overconsumption, regardless of the product, carries a risk of unpleasant health consequences.

The allowable amount of coffee is 1-2 cups a day.
