Milk and dairy products are rich in vitamin D, which is not only good for bones, but also stimulates brain activity.
Countries with higher consumption of milk and dairy products win many more Nobel Prizes, a study found.
In it, researchers look at 22 countries to list how many laureates they have. The results show that Sweden is in the lead, despite its population of only 10 million.
Scientists are studying the lifestyle and eating habits of Swedes. They found that milk consumption in the country is the highest - 340 kg per year per capita.
The study states that the lowest consumption of dairy products is China - about 25 kg per year per capita. They also have relatively few Nobel laureates, although the country has the largest population.
Milk and dairy products are rich in vitamin D , which is not only good for bones, but also stimulates brain activity. This may be the main reason for the increased frequency of Nobel Prizes in countries consuming milk, the researchers explain.
This does not mean that milk consumption alone can be enough to make a person a Nobel laureate, they added.
The results of the study are published in the journal Practical Neurology .
