Shiny black PN, Diamond black are always synonymous with the additive E 151, which refers to the dyes obtained from raw materials of artificial origin. In its natural form, the substance is in the form of black powder or granules, dissolves well in all liquids except oils; not "afraid" of light and temperature changes. The colorant is mainly used in combination with others, for example: with yellow E102, E 104, red E123, E129, E122 or orange E110 a wide range of shades of brown is obtained, and the combination of diamond black and yellow colorants, in the right proportions, gives a green color.
E 151 is found on the labels of yogurt and dairy products, desserts, semi-finished soups, canned fruits, mashed potatoes, alcoholic beverages (wines, champagne, etc.), pasta, spices, sauces, fish and seafood, semi-finished products , flavored dairy products, mustard, etc.
The permissible daily amount per 1 kg of body weight should not exceed 1 mg. The supplement is contraindicated for people suffering from asthma, rhinitis, urticaria. In large quantities it can cause diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, allergic reactions, sarcoma. Not recommended for use by children. The colorant is approved for use in the food industry in Russia and is banned in Norway, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, USA, Denmark, France, Norway, Germany, Australia.
