Characteristic

E 154 is a food additive from the group of synthetic dyes. It is a mixture of six azo dyes of synthetic origin with sodium chloride or sodium sulphate. Brown dye FK is banned in Russia, USA, Canada, Ukraine, Australia, Ireland, Japan and in almost all European countries. In England, it is still actively used in the food industry.

Use

E 154 is used only in the production of food products (hot or cold smoked fish, smoked ham, all types of potato chips), in other industries it is used very rarely.

Effects on the human body

Products containing E 154 coloring are strictly prohibited for children. In most people, this supplement can lead to an increase in blood pressure (when taken in large quantities - to achieve a hypertensive crisis). In addition, the substance causes allergies, both mild and severe. The dye is also prohibited for people suffering from bronchial asthma because it can exacerbate the disease. Its negative impact on the cardiovascular system and kidneys is noted. It is toxic to the liver and thyroid gland.
