Polyphosphates are a special type of additives that are used to form and preserve the texture and shape of products. Refer to the active substances used to mix non-miscible elements. The additive can act as: emulsifying salt, moisturizing agent, yeast food and color fixative.
Polyphosphates have the structure of transparent vitreous plates or powder. E 452 is obtained by heating sodium hydrogen phosphate above 600 degrees and rapidly cooling the resulting alloy. The additive is used as an emulsifier, stabilizer and complexing agent. The composition of E 452 includes phosphates of: potassium, calcium, sodium, ammonium.
Today, polyphosphates are used in the food industry much less frequently than before. They are used in the production of canned fish and meat, processed cheeses to significantly improve the consistency. E 452 is often combined with other similar citrates and phosphates. In addition to meat processing, the substance is also used in the manufacture of milk powder, cream, condensed milk. It is also allowed to be used to improve the growth of yeast and as an additive to pectins. Phosphates have the widest use as corrosion inhibitors, fiber degreasers, water softeners and as ingredients in detergents and cleaners.
Polyphosphates are polymers of phosphoric acid and have a special role in the bioenergetic processes occurring in living cells. Numerous studies have proven the ability of the supplement to create a large supply of phosphates in the body. The functions of the substance are manifested at different stages of biological development. They cause cancer and raise cholesterol.
The supplement plays an important role in the production and regulation of platelet levels in the blood and significantly improves blood clotting.
Polyphosphates are substances with a low degree of toxicity and contribute to the formation of biological elements, such as calcium ions.
