Regular consumption of foods rich in fiber protects against colon polyps, a new study shows.

Polyps are benign formations of the mucosa. They are relatively common and can be localized in the stomach, small intestine and colon.

When localized in the colon, polyps can cause complaints of abdominal pain, blood impurities in the stools, gas.

In some cases, polyps can become malignant and become malignant. Therefore, timely treatment is essential.

The researchers in the present study analyzed 2,818 people over 26 years. During this period, about 441 cases of colon polyps were registered.

It is found that the consumption of brown riceat least once a week reduces the risk of their development by 40% .

Another way to prevent colon polyps is to exercise .

After a colonoscopy of study participants, the researchers found that people who exercised even just one hour a week had a 9% lower risk of developing colon polyps.

Colonoscopy is a test in which a fiber optic device is inserted through the rectum into the colon. The procedure allows examination of the mucosa and taking a biopsy for morphological examination of pathological lesions.

Even one hour of exercise a week, without unnecessary and heavy loads, can have a beneficial effect on colon health. Even trivial exercises, such as walking or climbing stairs , can have a beneficial effect on the body, experts say.
