Eating And Hypotension Or Foods That Raise Blood Pressure

If you suffer from low blood pressure, learn which foods would help normalize it.

We often hear about hypertension and how to avoid raising blood pressure from relatives and acquaintances, there are a number of recipes and products that help to some extent. And while the whole world is struggling with hypertension, people with the opposite problem - hypotension (low blood pressure) - don't seem to get enough attention. And the consequences of both conditions are serious, especially for the cardiovascular system.

Low blood pressure is less than 90/60. It can be reduced by stress, consumption of junk food or lack of essential nutrients. For this reason, we will pay attention to  nutrition in low blood pressure . Keep in mind that if cases of lowering your blood pressure become frequent and cause you discomfort, you should consult a doctor to rule out the presence of more serious diseases, in particular anemia, heart failure, dehydration. and other.

Nutrition and hypotension (low blood pressure)

Diet plays an extremely important role in the process of normalizing blood pressure. To diagnose the disease, doctors usually advise their patients to refrain from drinking alcohol and high-carbohydrate products. This is necessary because alcohol depletes the body's strength, and carbohydrates can lead to weight gain. In addition, people with low blood pressure are prone to obesity. Scientists have shown that carbohydrates stimulate insulin production, which in turn overloads the central nervous system and raises blood pressure.

Feeding in hypotension should be 4, and preferably 6 times a day, to take small portions.

Many of the products that increase blood pressure are not among the useful and healthy, for example: fatty meat, smoked meat products, salty and spicy foods, canned food, ice cream, strong tea and coffee, cakes, butter dough pastries, white flour products, carbonated drinks and even alcohol. Significantly less harm to the body would cause, and some of them are even useful: oily fish, fish oil, liver, brain, kidneys, raw onions, horseradish, mustard, red and black pepper, cloves.

Of the alcoholic beverages it is better to bet on red wine. As for salt, it is harmful for hypertensives, but with low blood pressure you need to salt your meals more. It is also recommended to eat pickles. Such a diet leads to thirst and the need to drink more fluids, which in turn increases the amount of fluid in the body and blood volume, including. But, there is one "but" - all this is a common cause of edema, kidney and liver problems, also problems with blood vessels and heart. So you have to be very careful.

Of course, you should not overdo it with salty, just eat pickles or salted nuts for example.

To safely raise blood pressure help:

  • nuts - fresh, high in fat, up to 30-60 grams per day; especially useful are walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts;
  • cheese - all types (high fat, soft, hard) up to 50-100 grams;
  • coffee - due to the caffeine content.

If you eat a cheese and butter sandwich with your morning cup of coffee, you can get your low blood pressure back to normal thanks to the combination of salt, caffeine and fat.

Carrots and spinach are thought to increase blood pressure, but hypertensives should not exclude them from their diet because these products tend to normalize blood pressure if it is low.

Anemia is a common concomitant disease of hypotension, so it is good to consume products high in iron: lean red meat, liver, buckwheat, oats, wheat, corn, legumes, spinach.

Of the fruits are preferably: apricots, raspberries, pomegranate, dogwood and others. Mulberry fruits also work very well, which can be taken in the form of jam in winter, and fresh ones are consumed without restrictions in quantities.

Wheat and more precisely sprouted grains perfectly normalize blood pressure. Prepare yourself by washing 100 grams of the product 3-4 times under running water, then put in a flat container (the layer should be 2-3 centimeters thick) and pour water, which should barely cover the surface of the grains. Cover with gauze and leave in a moderately warm place (about 22 degrees) for a while until the nipples swell to 2-3 mm. When they germinate, rinse them and they are ready to eat. You can eat 1 tablespoon in the morning, chewing very well or grind them with a coffee grinder. An option is to add to salads, porridges and other dishes.

Beetroot is also useful for low blood pressure , but mostly its juice. It is squeezed from fresh root vegetables and taken in 200 milliliters daily. After a week, the blood will begin to normalize.

Eat as often as possible dishes of all kinds of cabbage, salads of fresh vegetables, to which add sorrel, plantain, parsnips.

The well-known mixture of prunes, dried apricots, walnuts, apples and honey, which helps boost immunity, also normalizes blood pressure. To prepare it, grind using a meat grinder or blender equal amounts of all the listed products. If desired, you can also add lemon juice. Take 1 tablespoon of the delicious combination before each meal.

Some experts recommend using more spices. This is the better option before eating salty foods. It is not necessary to include a lot of spices, it is enough to add ground black pepper to the dishes.

It is generally believed that hypotensives should not adhere to a special diet. It is important to be healthy, not to overdo any food, but also not to be subject to strict restrictions.

In addition to the products listed above, the menu should include more fresh green vegetables, fresh eggs and chicken, natural goat's milk foods, fresh fruits, raw nuts and seeds.

Disorders due to hypotension:

  • severe fatigue;
  • headache;
  • dizziness;
  • nausea;
  • heaviness in the stomach and other problems with the work of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • seizures are possible;
  • menstrual disorders are common in women;
  • in men, the problems are expressed in the sexual area.

In  hypotension it  is necessary to strengthen the body, increase vitality and most importantly to ensure sufficiently healthy and restful sleep.

People with  low blood pressure need more sleep than those with the opposite problem. The restless environment and the change of seasons affect them no less than the hypertensives - they lose weight and get tired quickly.
