After removal of the gallbladder it is necessary to follow a special diet.
The patient should be aware of its features, as well as the consequences of non-compliance, even before surgery.
The gallbladder ...
The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ. Its walls are stretched to a capacity of 200 ml.
It collects bile juice, which is constantly secreted by the liver cells. A few minutes after eating, the gallbladder contracts and bile is excreted through the bile duct through a common bile duct into the duodenum. The duration of the reduction depends on the amount of fat in the diet. A small part of the total amount of bile juice then remains in the gallbladder, but with a lower concentration.
Immobilization and impaired diet in the gallbladder results in stagnation of bile juice, increased fluid concentration, which leads to the formation of stones. Gallstones irritate the inner surface of the gallbladder, causing an inflammatory process, which causes the surgical separation of the organ.
Why is a diet necessary?
Irregular intake of food results in stagnation of bile and stretching of the gallbladder and its accumulation in the ducts. The high concentration of bile leads to the formation of stones, which after removal of the gallbladder is much more dangerous because it accumulates in the ducts.
For regular secretion of juice from the bile ducts after removal of the gallbladder, it is necessary to eat regularly. Food intake should be divided into 5-6 times a day.
Otherwise inflammation of the bile ducts is allowed. And their inflammatory changes disrupt the process of secretion and composition of bile. The amount of enzymes that help break down food is reduced. That is why animal fats and fatty meats are completely eliminated from the menu. The food should contain enough protein and complex carbohydrates (vegetables, porridge, puree). The only acceptable fats are vegetable and cow's oil.
The food is required to be processed in a certain mechanical and thermal way.
The following foods should be avoided:
Recommended foods
For the preparation of dishes, the choice should be focused on meat with a minimum amount of fat (lean meat) - lean beef, chicken, lean river or sea fish . Marine fish is recommendedbecause it is rich in lipotropins - lecithin, which helps absorb fat.
A useful food for those undergoing gallbladder surgery is cottage cheese , which is a rich source of complete easily digestible animal proteins. The curd contains another lipotropin - choline (which together with inositol forms lecithin).
Milk , mainly in the form of a yogurt product, is recommended for daily consumption. Cream is allowed only if it is low in fat in small quantities, in the form of sauce and addition to salads.
Allowed fats are only vegetable and cow's oil .
One egg per day is allowed .
Of the cereals suitable are buckwheat, oats, rice , which contain lipotropic substances.
It is necessary to eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, except for sour varieties that have a choleretic effect. Especially useful are: carrots, pumpkin, watermelon and melon .
Consumption of marmalade, jam, marmalade is allowed, but in moderation.
Method of food preparation The
products should be prepared by boiling , stewing or steaming. Frying and grilling are completely excluded. In direct roasting, the extractive substances are preserved in the meat products, and the fats form products that irritate the lining of the stomach and bile ducts.
Proper nutrition after removal of the gallbladder ensures normal swelling of bile juices and prevents inflammation and the formation of stones in the bile ducts.
