Experts Explain The Rating Of Harmful Products

A rating of harmful products was compiled after interviewing five experts in the field of nutrition. Each expert assigned a certain place to products for their harmfulness. The experts noted that there is a degree of relativity in such a rating: their arguments came down to the fact that everything is individual, depends on the dose of the harmful product and the initial level of health.

After interviewing five experts in the field of nutrition, we compiled a rating of harmful products. Since it is impossible to grasp the immeasurable, we focused only on products that are one of the causes of mass diseases: cardiovascular, oncological, gastrointestinal and diabetes: they are the ones that Ukrainians most often suffer from.

Each expert assigned a certain place to products for their harmfulness. We gave 5 points for the first, 4 points for the second, 3 points for the third, 2 points for the fourth, and 1 point for the fifth. The experts noted that there is a degree of relativity in such a rating: their arguments came down to the fact that everything is individual, depends on the dose of the harmful product and the initial level of health.

Top harmful products 7th place - 1 point Home preservation

It is often prepared with a violation of technology, which causes fatal poisonings, such as botulinum toxin poisoning.

Ice

It often contains synthetic thickeners and flavorings that can slow down metabolism.

6th place - 2 points Caffeine stimulants

These include coffee and energy drinks. A safe dose of coffee is 2-3 cups a day, energy drinks can be safely drunk not at all every day. Excess leads to exhaustion of the nervous system.

Milk

A product to which people often have food intolerance.

5th place – 3 points Margarina (front)

Harmful for the same reason as chips: they contain carcinogenic transgenic fats.

Confectionery with a high content of fat and sugar

Regular consumption of such sweets is one of the shortest ways to metabolic disorders (it causes an excess of fat and sugar).

Cereals

People often have food intolerances to white bread and other cereals.

4th place - 4 points Vegetables and fruits contaminated by industrial emissions

Benzopyrene and other carcinogens are concentrated in vegetables and fruits grown using nitrates collected near industrial enterprises, highways, and the like.

Products with preservatives

As a rule, preservatives contain monosodium glutamate, a substance toxic to the body that causes headaches, spasms of blood vessels, and metabolic disorders.

3rd place – 6 points Low-quality sausage

Very often they do not contain anything natural and are full of dyes, flavors and other synthetics, the safety of which has not been proven for health.

Smokedness

Smoked meat and fish often accumulate benzopyrene - one of the strongest carcinogens.

Ketchups and mayonnaise

Mayonnaises often contain carcinogenic synthetic trans-fats, and ketchups with starch are synthetic additives whose safety for health has not been proven.

2nd place – 7 points Fast food

Under this concept, first of all, biladashi, khachapuri, French fries, etc. are used, which are cooked in boiling vegetable oil, which is used many times. Because of this, carcinogens are formed in it.

1st place – 12 Chips points

The very technology of making chips (hydrogenation of vegetable oil) leads to the formation of carcinogenic synthetic fats and other carcinogens (acrylamide, benzopyrene). We will remind you that carcinogens provoke the appearance of cancer.

Lemonade

With excessive consumption, it disrupts metabolism (due to excess sugar), synthetic dyes often cause allergies, and carbon dioxide (bubbles) - increase the acidity of gastric juice, which leads to gastritis.
