Are you going on a trip and have thought about a question that is important for all travelers: what products to take with you?
Are you going on a trip and have thought about a question that is important for all travelers: what products to take with you?
When making an "outing menu", take into account the following factors: the duration and composition of the trip participants, whether you will have the opportunity to eat at roadside cafes, the time of year, and, of course, the personal taste preferences of the traveling team.
Pies for everyoneA classic dish for most travelers is pies. They are not only filling, they are convenient to snack at any time of the year and day for everyone: children, meat eaters, vegetarians, and even those who are usually "on a diet". The main thing is to choose a filling that can be stored for a long time when preparing pies, for example, beans, rice, eggs, meat (pre-fried). If you want to prepare "children's" pies with fruits (apples, pears, cherries or bananas), then make sure that the filling is not too liquid - such pies spoil quickly.
Sandwiches, sandwichesThis is a decent and convenient alternative to pies when there is no time, opportunity or desire to cook them. But remember that they are kept fresh and appetizing for a short time, so it makes sense to cook them if you have a short trip (2-4 hours), and it is better to wrap them in foil or parchment paper.
In the event that you plan to be on the road for a longer time, prepare the ingredients separately in accordance with the taste preferences of the travelers (for example, sliced bread or rolls, fried meat or cutlets, raw smoked sausage, greens, vegetables, etc.), and then, when you are hungry, combine everything beautifully. It will be both fresh and appetizing.
Note to carnivoresIt is very convenient to take with you on the road meat baked in foil and with a sufficient amount of spices and herbs, which are excellent natural preservatives (rosemary, tarragon, oregano, garlic, etc.).
Chicken, beef, pork, turkey - any meat of your choice will go on the road, but make sure it is well done, as medium-rare meat or "with blood" is not suitable for the road, as it spoils quickly .
If you like lard, feel free to take it with you on the road, but it is better in frozen form and in salt. Clean the salt when using it, and eat the "people's product" in moderation - after all, it is high in calories.
Baked or boiled potatoes are a completely independent, inexpensive and favorite dish of many, and not only on the road. Even if you don't eat it, it's okay to throw it away. Tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, zucchini, radishes, greens should be taken cleanly washed, but not cut. And to make the road salad tastier, take sauces with you in special airtight containers.
Apples, pears, bananas, persimmons are an excellent and healthy snack for adults and children throughout the journey.
An excellent alternative to raw vegetables is pancakes and cutlets made from them. You can prepare them from potatoes, zucchini, pumpkin, carrots - but remember, it is best to eat them in the first 3-4 hours of the journey.
For lovers of hot foodInstant cereals and mashed potatoes, instant vermicelli - it is not advisable to abuse them, but these are available, and if they are occasionally "on occasion", they are not such harmful products. If you still intend to include these quick-cooking foods in your diet, don't forget to take a thermos with hot water with you.
What to drink?There are no restrictions here: mineral water, juices in hermetically sealed packages, tea and coffee in a thermos - the main thing is to prepare all the desired drinks in advance as a reserve - they will not spoil.
Should I take snacks?Chips, crackers, peanuts, pistachios, fish - whether or not to take these products - you decide for yourself, but remember that all of them are quite salty and cause thirst. But whether it is always appropriate to drink a lot on the road - decide for yourself.
If you have small children with youThe key issue here is the age of the child. Babies up to a year old (if they are on artificial feeding) need to take basic nutrition and a sufficient amount of boiled water in a thermos with them on the road to prepare the mixture.
Also, depending on the age of the child and his personal preferences, it will not be superfluous to take with you fruit or vegetable puree in jars, pasteurized milk, juices, cottage cheese and other "favorite" treats of the baby. Older children are willing to support themselves on the road with juices, cookies, chocolate bars (make sure to keep the measure, and keep the chocolate bars in the travel refrigerator). An excellent dessert for everyone on the go and regardless of the season is caramel or lollipops.
Recommended products "for everyone"It will never be superfluous to take with you sliced bread, processed cheese, boiled eggs, nuts, dried fruits, shortbread cookies, muffins, chocolate, fruits and dried fruits.
"Road" triflesAn indispensable thing on the road, especially in summer, is a cooler bag. Also, don't forget to take with you such important and usually invisible items as a knife, can and bottle opener, paper napkins and towels, polyethylene bags of various sizes, plastic dishes (plates, cups). You will always need water - take as much of it as possible.
And what not to takeYou should not take perishable and "inconvenient" products on the road with you, such as:
– Sandwiches with mayonnaise or oil;
– Salads with mayonnaise;
– Cut fruits or vegetables;
– Crispy cookies, waffles, cakes;
– Soup or borscht in a jar.
