What is diet № 6 intended for? This diet is prescribed for gout and urolithiasis (kidney stones). Purpose of the diet: to normalize purine metabolism, reduce the formation of uric acid

Purpose, general characteristics and purpose of a curative diet №6

  • Therapeutic diet №6 is indicated for gout and kidney stones with the formation of stones from uric acid salts (uraturia).
  • Eating in such health problems excludes the intake of products containing large amounts of purines, oxalic acid. Salt is limited in moderation, alkalizing products in the menu (dairy products, vegetables and fruits) and free fluid (in the absence of contraindications from the cardiovascular system) increase. It is necessary to slightly reduce the amount of protein and fat in the menu, and with concomitant obesity - and carbohydrates.
  • The culinary processing of food is traditional, except for the obligatory cooking of meat, poultry and fish. The temperature of the dishes is normal. Food intake should be 4 times a day, between meals to drink.
  • Purpose of the diet: to normalize the metabolism of purines, to reduce the formation of uric acid and its salts in the body, to change the reaction of urine in an alkaline environment.

Chemical composition and energy value of the diet in gout and uraturia

  • protein: 70 g (50% animal, mainly dairy);
  • fat: 80 g (30% vegetable);
  • carbohydrates: 350-400 g (80 g of sugar);
  • table salt: 8-10 g;
  • free liquid: 1.5-2 l and more;
  • Calories: 2400-2600 kcal.
Bread and bakery products
  • Allowed: wheat and rye bread from flour 1st and 2nd class, various pasta baked foods, including the presence of bran.
  • The diet limits the consumption of butter dough products.
Soups
  • Allowed: vegetarian - vegetables, potatoes, cereals, cold, dairy, fruit.
  • The diet does not allow broths: meat, fish and mushrooms, sorrel, spinach, legumes.

Meat, birds, fish

  • Allowed: lean red and white meat, fish. Up to 3 times a week to take 150 grams of boiled meat or 160-170 grams of boiled fish. After cooking, use to prepare various dishes (stewed, baked, fried, like minced meatballs). Equal amounts of meat and fish can be combined.
  • The diet does not allow the intake of: liver, kidneys, tongue, brain, meat of young animals and birds, sausages, smoked foods, salted fish, canned meat and fish, caviar.
Dairy products
  • Allowed: milk, dairy products, cottage cheese and dishes from it, cheese, cream.
  • Salty cheeses are forbidden.
Eggs
  • In the presence of gout and uric acid in the urine, the consumption of 1 egg per day is allowed, no matter how it is prepared.
Cereals and legumes
  • Allowed: any cereals in moderation.
  • Legumes are not on the list of permitted products.
Vegetables
  • Allowed: a larger amount of raw and processed vegetables, potato dishes.
  • The diet does not allow the consumption of mushrooms, fresh legumes, spinach, sorrel, rhubarb, cauliflower; the intake of salted and pickled vegetables is limited.
Appetizers
  • Allowed: salads of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Prohibited: salty appetizers, smoked foods, canned food, caviar.
Fruits, sweets, confectionery
  • Allowed: to take a larger amount of fruit (including forest) - fresh and undergone any culinary processing; dried fruit; creams and lactic acids; jellies, candies (but not chocolate), jam, honey.
  • Illegal foods: chocolate, figs, raspberries, blueberries.
Sauces and spices
  • Allowed: vegetable, tomato, cream and milk sauces; citric acid, vanilla, cinnamon, bay leaf; dill, parsley.
  • The diet does not allow: meat, fish and mushroom broths; pepper, mustard, horseradish.
The drinks
  • Allowed: tea with lemon or milk, weak coffee with milk, fruit juices (and forest) and vegetables, fruit drinks, rosehip decoction, decoctions of wheat bran and dried fruits.
  • The diet does not include: strong coffee and tea, cocoa.
Fat
  • Allowed: melted cow's milk and vegetable oils.
  • Excludes the intake of beef and sheep fat, cooking fats; the use of lard is restricted.

Sample menu for gout and uraturia

  • 1st breakfast: vegetable salad with vegetable oil, soft-boiled egg, carrot pudding with apples and millet, tea;
  • 2nd breakfast: rosehip decoction
  • Lunch: noodles with milk, fried potato meatballs, sour
  • Afternoon snack: fresh apples;
  • Dinner: roasted cheesecake, sarma, stuffed vegetables with rice, tea.
  • Late evening: decoction of wheat bran.
