In order not to catch a cold in autumn, it is enough to follow some simple recommendations.
Cold seasonWith the onset of autumn, almost all of us face one or another cold. Runny nose, cough, sore throat and high temperature are frequent companions of a person in the cold season. According to doctors, the probability of colds is the highest in autumn. A decrease in air temperature, gusty winds and frequent rains in the autumn period lead to hypothermia of the body, as a result of which the immune defense falls, which in turn leads to acute respiratory viral diseases. In the autumn period, human nutrition also changes: the number of products that are a source of vitamin C and a number of other biologically active compounds decreases, which also reduces the body's protective properties. In addition, autumn is, as a rule, vacation time, when many return to work, and schoolchildren and students begin their studies. Often this period is accompanied by stress, which negatively affects the state of the immune system. Autumn is also a period of exacerbation of a number of chronic diseases that weaken the body, thereby creating conditions for the penetration of disease-causing viruses and bacteria.
A cold can become a serious obstacle for a person, worsening the quality of his life, and not giving him the opportunity to properly fulfill his work obligations. Sometimes cold symptoms last for weeks, especially if the patient continues to go to work and does not follow the doctor's recommendations. Therefore, any disease is always better and cheaper to prevent than to treat. Let's figure it out so as not to catch a cold in the fall.
Do not neglect restIn order not to overspend energy, it is necessary to strictly follow the regime of work and rest. Try to get enough sleep, spending at least 7-8 hours a day. It is during sleep that the work of the immune system normalizes and the work of all organs and systems is actively restored. It has been known for a long time that sleep is one of the best medicines. An organism that systematically lacks sleep is more vulnerable to viral and bacterial infections, so such people catch colds more often than others.
The diet in the autumn period should be as diverse as possible. Give preference to products that contain a large number of vitamins, minerals and other useful substances. Include in the menu fish, eggs, meat, fermented milk products, fresh vegetables and fruits (you can use frozen ones), as well as freshly squeezed juices. Rosehip infusions and herbal teas will be useful.
Humidify the airThe heating season usually begins in mid-autumn, and it is often during this period that a surge of colds is registered, especially among children. Why does this happen? The whole point is that the air in heated rooms is overdried, and the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity dries out accordingly, which makes it much easier for the virus to penetrate the respiratory tract. Therefore, to reduce the probability of infection, use humidifiers, or at least ventilate the room often.
Walks in the fresh air and hardeningFrequent walks in the fresh air help strengthen immunity. It also increases the body's resistance to hardening , but you need to start doing this in the summer. And during an illness, you can't practice hardening.
Observe hygieneTake care of the cleanliness in the house, as well as the cleanliness of your hands. Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 30 seconds, especially after being on public transport. Also wash your face and rinse your nasal cavity. This will allow you to get rid of viral particles that have managed to settle on the surface of the face. You can rinse the nasal cavity with the help of a solution of sea salt, which is sold in every pharmacy.
