Necessary products:

1 part apples

1 part rose hips

1 part sugar

Method of preparation:

The fruits must be cleaned of seeds, the apples must be cut into small pieces. The quantity of the products should be equal, for this purpose use the same measuring container (cup, jar, bowl or other). Of course you can put more apples than rose hips and vice versa. Then you will get apple jam with rose hips or rosehip jam with apples :). If you prefer the second option, then the ratio of fruit: sugar should be 2: 1 (for example, 2 cups of fruit mix and 1 cup of sugar).

Cooking is done in three stages.

Let's start making jam.

Wash the apples and rose hips, dry them. Clean the rose hips from the tails and "stems", cut in half and remove the seeds with a small spoon. Wash once more, dry. Remove the core of the apples with the seeds. Cut into pieces the size of rose hips.

Sprinkle the prepared fruit with sugar, pour a little water (the proportion is 1 cup of water to 8 - 10 cups of peeled fruit). But you can put a little on the eye, as long as the jam does not burn initially, then the fruit will release its own juice. Wait for the mixture to start boiling, stirring vigorously and removing the foam that has formed. Boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat, close the pan with a lid and leave at room temperature to soak the fruit in the syrup.

After 6 - 10 hours, repeat the cooking in the same way. After another 6 - 10 hours is the third final cooking. You can now distribute the jam in sterilized jars and close with boiled lids.

Store in a dark and cool place (cellar, basement, refrigerator).
