How To Cook Bread Casserole With Caramelized Onions And Ham - Recipe

Required products :

  • 1 loaf (about 500 grams) cut into cubes
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons fresh milk (you can mix milk and cream)
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • oil to grease the pan
  • 1 teaspoon caramelized onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons grated yellow cheese
  • 250 grams of diced ham
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives

Method of preparation :

Beat the eggs and mix them with the milk, nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Add the bread to the mixture and leave to soak for 3 hours.

Transfer the mixture to a ceramic pan, which you have previously greased with plenty of oil.

Add the caramelized onions, half the yellow cheese and the ham. Sprinkle with the remaining yellow cheese and bake for 50-55 minutes at 230 degrees.

Cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving. When serving, sprinkle with chives.
