Required products :
400 grams of bread (baguette)
8 eggs
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 pod vanilla (seeds)
2 teaspoons fresh milk
2 teaspoons high-fat cooking cream
1/4 tea cup dark rum
1/4 teaspoon salt
For caramel:
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon water
1/2 teaspoon vinegar
3 tablespoons butter
Method of preparation :
Beat the eggs and sugar with a wire for this purpose, add the vanilla seeds, pour the milk, cream, rum, add a little salt. Pour the resulting mixture on the bread, pre-cut into cubes. Leave for 45 minutes, the mixture should be completely absorbed.
Make the caramel syrup. Pour the sugar with 1/2 cup of water, add the vinegar and place the dish on the stove. Let the mixture boil until it forms a yellow-brown color. Then pour another 1/4 tea cup of water.
Pour the caramel into a form with a diameter of 20 centimeters. Distribute it evenly on the walls and bottom of the dish, tilting it in all directions. Spread 3 tablespoons of oil on top.
Transfer the bread mixture to the pan using a spoon. Cover with parchment and place in a water bath in the oven at 175 degrees.
Allow the pudding to cook for 75 minutes.
