Required products :

For the meatballs :

  • 3 cups of broccoli, along with the stems
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon flour
  • 1/4 tea cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 clove of garlic, pressed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

For the sauce :

  • 1/4 tea cup yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation :

  • Boil the broccoli in water or steam until soft but not boiling.
  • Drain the water and mash them lightly. Not until smooth, but so much so that when you shape the meatballs, parts of them do not stick out.
  • Add the lemon juice to the yogurt and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, transfer to a saucepan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the egg with a fork and add the milk, flour, parmesan and garlic.
  • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Add the mashed broccoli to the dough and mix well to distribute evenly in it.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of the dough and use a spoon to level the mixture to about 1 cm thick. You can fry 3 meatballs at a time.
  • Fry on each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • Serve the broccoli meatballs with the milk sauce and lemon slices.
