How To Cook Burger With Sweet Potatoes And Halloumi Cheese - Recipe

Required products :

  • 500 grams of sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 175 grams of kale, chopped in bulk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 green onion stalks, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 hot red pepper, finely chopped
  • a handful of coriander (or parsley), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 50 grams of sesame seeds
  • 250 grams of halloumi cheese
  • 4 burgers
  • 1 soft avocado, smeared
  • sea ​​salt and pepper
  • hot pepper jam for serving

Method of preparation :

Heat water in a saucepan and, when it boils, put the potatoes, cook them for 15 minutes. Drain and mash.

Meanwhile, blanch the kale in boiling water for 4 minutes until soft. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Once cooled, chop finely.

Heat olive oil in a pan and fry green onions, garlic and hot pepper for 2-3 minutes. Add the coriander and stir.

Transfer to a large bowl and add the sweet potatoes, kale and flour. Season with salt and pepper.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a large thick meatball.

Roll in sesame seeds and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the meatballs in it for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden.

Dry the halloumi cheese and bake it in a pan for about 3 minutes on the side to acquire a golden and crispy crust.

Divide the burgers into halves and spread avocado on the bottom. Put the cheese on top, followed by the meatball and finally spread with a little hot pepper jam. Close with the upper loaf and serve.
