A dish coming from the Philippines, which does not require any special or rare products.

Necessary products:

  • 1 whole chicken or 3-4 chicken legs
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups water

* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.

Method of preparation:

In a saucepan, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, water, finely chopped garlic, bay leaf and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil and place the legs in a row (if you use a whole chicken, you will need to cut it into pieces). The liquid should cover almost the entire meat. Close the pot with a lid, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Turn periodically. Then remove the legs with a slotted spoon to drain excess liquid and leave the sauce on the stove to simmer for a while. Fry the pieces of meat until golden.

The dish is usually served with rice and drizzled with sauce.

Enjoy your meal!
