Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and grease and knead a cake pan. Put the crushed walnuts in the form.
Combine the dry cake mix and the vanilla cream (both should be dry without adding anything to them, just the packets). Add the eggs, butter, water and rum. stir.
Pour the dough into the cake pan and bake for 1 hour, until dry. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the sugar, rum and water, let the mixture boil for 5 minutes.
Punch the whole cake with a skewer. Place the cake on a wire rack with a tray underneath. Pour the glaze over it, and with what has drained into the pan, pour over the cake again.
