How To Cook French Egg Sandwich With Strawberries And Banana - Recipe

The soft and tender egg bread is filled with fresh fruit, then dipped in egg cream with orange flavor and baked until golden brown. If you want to make a loved one feel special, prepare this quick and very tasty brunch dish for him.

Required products :

  • 4 slices of egg bread (or 4 small wholemeal breads)
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, cut in half
  • 1 large ripe banana, cut into circles
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup fresh milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange peel
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)

* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.

Method of preparation :

Cut the egg bread into thick slices, which you cut horizontally lengthwise to make a pocket.

Mix in a bowl the strawberries, banana, 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon. Fill the pockets evenly with the resulting mixture.

In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs, milk, remaining sugar, vanilla, orange peel and salt. Dip each slice of bread in this mixture for 15-20 seconds or until well watered.

Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and bake the French sandwich until golden brown for 7-10 minutes, turning once. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Garnish with fresh fruit and dark chocolate if desired.
