Necessary products
For the dough:
2 eggs
250 milliliters of fresh milk
450 - 500 grams of flour
1 teaspoon sugar
50 grams of fresh yeast or 11 grams of dry
1 teaspoon salt
For spreading:
1 egg
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons dried basil
3 - 4 cloves of garlic
100 grams of butter
Method of preparation :
Mix in a suitable bowl the warm milk and yeast, add a little flour
and leave until the yeast is activated.
Sift the flour into a bowl, make a hollow in the middle and beat the eggs there, add the sugar and salt.
Then add the milk with the yeast.
Knead a light dough, put it in a bowl. To rise faster, drive a cocktail straw in the middle. Cover it with plastic wrap or a lid and leave in a warm place.
Melt the butter in a suitable bowl, add the garlic and basil.
This is what the finished dough looks like.
Divide it into 4 equal parts, roll each of them. While rolling one, the others should be covered with a towel.
Cut circles using a cup. Their thickness should be not less than 0.5 centimeters.
Then cut each circle in half.
Grease the form with oil.
Arrange a row of "petals" in the prepared dish, grease them with oil, sprinkle with basil.
Continue laying in a checkerboard pattern and let the dough rise again.
When this happens, smear the surface with egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon of water, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the pie for 40 minutes until golden.
Leave the finished bread to cool.
You do not need to cut, tear the "petals" of the pie and enjoy the wonderful taste.
