That is why we present you another one that will impress your family, and you will be able to enjoy the company of your loved ones instead of locking yourself in the kitchen. Here we go!

Required products :

  • 125 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honeydew
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon allspice powder
  • Christmas candy canes for decoration

For the lemon glaze:

  • 4 tea cups dry icing mixture
  • 100 grams of butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Method of preparation :

Start by making the cake. Put the butter, salt and honey in a saucepan. Heat the stove to medium, put the mixture on it and cook for 5 minutes until smooth and the sugar melts. Bring to a boil. Add the baking soda and remove the pan from the heat. Wait 10 minutes for the mixture to cool.

Turn the oven to preheat to 180 degrees (or 160 degrees if you use a fan). In a tray measuring 20 by 30 centimeters, place a sheet of baking paper only on the bottom and separately another long strip, 5 centimeters larger than the depth of the tray with which you go around the walls.

Transfer the mixture with the butter and sugar to a bowl and add the eggs one by one, stirring after each to absorb. Sift the flour with allspice and ginger in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon or spatula to combine the ingredients well. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until dry. Leave the finished cake to cool without removing it from the mold.

Prepare the lemon glaze: sift the icing mixture into a large bowl and add the butter, milk and lemon juice. Stir with a wooden spoon for 1 minute until you get a creamy texture.

Remove the cake from the pan and spread with the glaze, decorate with sugar sticks. Allow the coating to harden for 20 minutes, cut the dessert into pieces and serve.
