Required products :

100 grams of dark raisins
4 tablespoons of honey (or more)
3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
500 grams of puff pastry
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
120 grams of walnuts
50 grams of chocolate drops a
pinch of salt

Method of preparation :

Separate the yolks from the whites. Leave the yolks to spread on the surface of the baklava, and beat the egg whites to a froth together with the powdered sugar, a pinch of salt and cinnamon.

Wash the raisins, pour boiling water over them, rinse again and dry.

Break the walnuts into pieces and bake them.

Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and roll each of them very thinly according to the size of the pan. The thinner the layers, the better (about 1 mm). After distributing a sheet of dough in the dish, pierce it with a fork and bake in the oven until golden at a temperature of 180 degrees (for about 10-15 minutes). Once it is ready, take it out of the tray and put the second sheet on the bottom (it will be the base).

Spread the dough leaves with half of the beaten egg whites, sprinkle with some of the raisins, chocolate drops and walnuts.

Place the baked dough on top and press it by hand.

Cover with the remaining protein mass and sprinkle with walnuts, chocolate and raisins.

Finish the arrangement with the third layer of puff pastry, which is not pre-baked.

Fold the edges to close the baklava on all sides. Cut into diamonds, the cuts not reaching the base, but passing only in front of the top two sheets of dough.

Coat the surface with the beaten egg yolks, to which you can add a little water.

In the middle of each piece put a walnut and bake the baklava in a preheated oven to 180 degrees until golden brown. The approximate time is about 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, if necessary, warm a little honey, but do not heat it too much, because at high temperatures it loses its useful properties. The amount used is not strictly defined, it depends on your taste preferences.

Once the baklava is ready, cut the pieces along the contours and pour the honey while it is still warm.

Enjoy your meal!
