Learn how to cook "How to determine the freshness of meat, meat products and fish in the store". Delicious recipe.
The wide selection of food products in the supermarket or neighborhood store often makes us think about how fresh the product is . But how do we understand this and how to recognize the tricks of traders? This is the topic today ... or more specifically: how to determine the freshness of meat, meat products and fish?
It should have a "fresh" pink appearance and a pleasant "fresh" aroma. It often happens that we come across meat that has a deep pink color. It is clear to all of us that this is achieved through coloring. To recognize the "painted" product, you must first look at it carefully from all sides. If you notice that the meat combines different shades of red, it has reason to believe that it is artificially colored. To be completely sure of this, place a piece of it on a white napkin - a housewife can always tell if the imprint left on it is blood or paint.
If you are wondering if the meat is fresh, check this by pressing it with your fingers. If it is fresh, it will return to its original shape. If that doesn't happen, it's not.
Another thing to know - there should be no mucus on the product. As for the minced meat, it is best to grind it before your eyes. But since this is not always possible, you can find out its price, which is not good to be lower than that of the meat itself. To be completely sure of the quality of the product, you could ask the seller to present you with the relevant document of origin and quality.
The first sign of freshness of the fish is the "fresh" and good smell. If it is not fresh, the easiest way to give it a commercial look is with the help of "liquid smoke". The fish processed in this way is easily distinguished from the real smoked one - by cutting it into pieces, it will disintegrate.
Also pay attention to the gills. If there is mucus on them, then the fish is not fresh. They will also not have a fresh shade of pink. Remember that fresh fish spoils in a day.
Most often, sliced and packaged sausages are not fresh. Usually, the date marked on the packaging and labels is the date of slicing, not the preparation of the product itself.
Fresh sausages and sausages are visible on the shell, which is slightly inflated. If you pierce it with a needle and its contents are wet, it is obviously spoiled.
In the case of frozen semi-finished products or fruit, you should pay more attention to the amount of ice in them. In fact, there should be no such thing in them. If available, this probably means that they have already been thawed once and then frozen again.
If the semi-finished products are glued to each other and form a whole product, then they have also been thawed.
To give a fresh look to uncooked chicken, it is usually wiped with a chlorine solution. Trust your sense of smell, even the slightest breath of chlorine should stop you from buying the product.
Shop from stores where contact with sellers is possible, consult with them about food choices.
Fresh products are equal not only to delicious meals, but also to health - yours and that of your loved ones.
