Fig jam with orange and cinnamon

Necessary products:
  • 600 grams of figs
  • 300 grams of sugar (if the fruits are very sweet, you can use a smaller amount)
  • juice and peel of 1 orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
How to make homemade fig jam with orange and cinnamon:

Wash the figs, cut off their tails and cut the fruit into medium-sized pieces. Put in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar.

Boil the orange with boiling water, grate its peel, squeeze the juice and add to the bowl with the figs. Add the cinnamon stick, stir. Leave for 2-3 hours, during which periodically stir the fruit. Then put them to boil, not forgetting to stir so as not to burn.

Once the mixture boils, remove the foam that will form on the surface. Boil the jam to the desired density of the syrup.

While still hot, distribute in sterilized jars and close immediately. Once cooled, you can store them in a cool place.

Necessary products:
  • 1 kg of ripe figs, well washed and drained
  • 1 kg of sugar

Put the fruit pot on a medium heat. Once the contents boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the consistency thickens. Stir periodically.

Distribute the fig jam in clean glass jars, close tightly and put them in boiling water for 10 minutes.

Allow to cool completely to room temperature before storing in a cool, dark place. This way the jam will keep for at least 1 year.


Serve with homemade muffins, strained yogurt, ice cream or anything else of your choice.

Honey jam from figs

Necessary products:
  • 1 kilogram of ripe figs
  • 500 grams of honey
  • 2 teaspoons water

Mix honey and water in a suitable bowl with a thick bottom and put on low heat. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Wash the figs and pierce them in several places with a fork or use a wooden skewer. Dip the fruit in boiling honey and cook on low heat for 2 hours (remove the foam that forms).

Then let the jam cool, fill into jars, close them and store in a cool place.

Store fig jam in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month. Canned jars can be stored for up to a year in a dark and cool place.
