Figs are an exotic fruit with a specific pleasant aroma and very sweet taste. They are most often preserved in the form of jam or marmalade. Raw are delicious, but can be found on the market only in summer. Homemade fig jam is very suitable for sweetening cakes, pies, muffins, pancakes and other desserts. People with a more refined taste can combine it with meat dishes or cheese.
Figs are low-calorie fruits, rich in carbohydrates, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other useful nutrients. The fruit is extremely nutritious and useful for consumption in conditions such as constipation and anemia, and helps as a prevention against cancer. Here are some recipes for how to make homemade fig jam with different flavors, as well as a recipe for a healthy version with honey.
Wash the figs, cut off their tails and cut the fruit into medium-sized pieces. Put in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar.
Boil the orange with boiling water, grate its peel, squeeze the juice and add to the bowl with the figs. Add the cinnamon stick, stir. Leave for 2-3 hours, during which periodically stir the fruit. Then put them to boil, not forgetting to stir so as not to burn.
Once the mixture boils, remove the foam that will form on the surface. Boil the jam to the desired density of the syrup.

Cut the figs into quarters and place them in a large saucepan. Add the sugar and freshly squeezed citrus juices. Sprinkle with grated orange and lemon zest and stir. Allow the mixture to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Put the fruit pot on a medium heat. Once the contents boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the consistency thickens. Stir periodically.
Distribute the fig jam in clean glass jars, close tightly and put them in boiling water for 10 minutes.

Serve with homemade muffins, strained yogurt, ice cream or anything else of your choice.
Mix honey and water in a suitable bowl with a thick bottom and put on low heat. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Wash the figs and pierce them in several places with a fork or use a wooden skewer. Dip the fruit in boiling honey and cook on low heat for 2 hours (remove the foam that forms).
Then let the jam cool, fill into jars, close them and store in a cool place.
