How To Cook Japanese Pancakes Okonomiyaki With Shrimp And Cabbage - Recipe

Necessary products

For the sauce:

  • 1/2 teaspoon mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

For the pancakes:

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce, sesame oil and sea salt
  • 1/3 tea cup flour
  • 2 tea cups of cabbage - cut into thin juliennes
  • 1 bunch chives - chopped
  • 3/4 cup shrimp - chopped
  • canola oil for frying
  • 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds for sprinkling

 

Method of preparation :

Mix the mayonnaise with the soy sauce and the spicy Sriracha, mix well with a fork until smooth.

Make the dough. In a large bowl, mix the eggs with the soy sauce, sesame oil and salt. Gradually add the flour and stir until completely absorbed. Add onions, cabbage and shrimp to the mixture.

Heat a cast iron skillet with a little canola oil. Using a spoon, add some of the mixture and make small pancakes, which you fry for 3 minutes on each side.

When ready, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with sauce.
