Required products :

 

1 cup ground corn kernels

3.5 teaspoons of water

pinch of salt

 

200 grams of hard white brined cheese

oregano

ground black pepper to taste

 

1 teaspoon frying fat

a handful of corn flour or ground corn kernels

1 egg

 

Method of preparation :

Finely grind the corn kernels using a blender.

 

Mix with water, add a pinch of salt and put on high heat until the mixture boils. Then lower the temperature and let the cooking continue until all the liquid is absorbed. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Cut the cheese into large cubes (1.5 cm), roll them in ground black pepper and sprinkle with finely chopped or chopped oregano leaves.

 

With wet hands, form a layer of corn porridge in your palm (about 3 mm thick), press and put a cube of cheese in the middle.

 

Form balls, which you dip in a beaten egg (with a little salt),

 

roll in cornmeal

 

and fry in hot oil to form a golden crispy crust.
