4 tablespoons honey

3 - 4 stars anise

5 - 6 cloves

3 - 4 grains of allspice

Method of preparation :

Pour the wine into a saucepan and put it on medium heat. Peel the apples, cut them into cubes and add the wine. Cut the oranges in half, squeeze the juice directly into the pot and then release the rest of the citrus. Add the spices, close the pan with a lid and reduce the heat. Observe the mixture, in any case do not let it boil. When hot enough, add honey and stir until completely dissolved. Taste and, if necessary, sweeten more. When the steam starts to evaporate intensively, turn off the hob. Let the dish stand under a towel or blanket for about 5 - 10 minutes, then pour the drink into suitable cups, straining.

You can decorate with a slice of orange, you can also pre-wet the edge of the cup and dip it in sugar.

Other suitable additions for mulled wine: rosemary, tea (eg black), and honey can be replaced by apricot jam or sea buckthorn.
