Required products :

  • 300 grams of dried red beans
  • 500 grams of minced beef
  • 400 milliliters of thick tomato juice with pieces of tomato
  • 600 milliliters of beef broth
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 large sweet pepper
  • 1 red hot pepper
  • ground cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (2 of them for frying vegetables and 1 - for minced meat)
  • salt to taste

Method of preparation :

Boil the beans until ready and drain the liquid (you can use a canned product).

Fry the minced meat in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, breaking all the lumps in it.

In a separate bowl, fry the chopped onion and garlic in the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the sliced peppers (both hot and sweet).

Pour the minced meat into the vegetable combination, let it simmer for 5 minutes and pour the broth. Add salt, wait for the liquid to boil and reduce the heat to a minimum.

Five minutes later, add salt, add ground cayenne pepper to taste (be careful with the amount, as the pepper is very hot) and pour over the tomato juice. Let the mixture boil for a few minutes, then reduce the temperature of the stove and let the dish simmer for 20 minutes. At the end of cooking, add the beans. Once the beans are warm, turn off the stove.

You can adjust the density with beef broth.

Enjoy your meal!
