How To Cook Stewed Corn With Bacon And Cheese In A Bread Casserole - Recipe

Required products :

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion
  • 3 pieces of bacon
  • 3 peppers (red, yellow, green)
  • about 350 grams of canned corn
  • 1/4 tea cup flour
  • 3 teaspoons chicken broth
  • 200 grams of grated yellow cheese
  • 1/3 tea cup chopped green onions
  • a few loaves, but not too fresh and too soft
  • 1 cup cream or milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation :

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Fry finely chopped old onions in it for 2 minutes. Then add the bacon (cut into large cubes), stew for another minute. Put the peppers (cut into cubes), wait a few more minutes, add the corn and stew for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour the flour into the pot with the vegetables and mix well so that no lumps form. Then pour the chicken broth, stir thoroughly again and leave the soup for 3-5 minutes on medium heat to thicken and reduce the temperature. Stir and add the cream (milk). Close the pan with a lid and let the soup cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened. Pour the chopped green onions and finally the grated yellow cheese. When the latter melts,

Cut the top of the loaves and carefully remove the inside (try not to damage the walls and bottom), the bread should resemble a pot, casserole. Distribute the soup in non-standard dishes and serve.
