Required products :

  • 1 cup rice for sushi
  • 1 1/4 tea cups water
  • 1 red, green and yellow pepper, cut into cubes
  • 1 cucumber, cut into thin sticks
  • 1 carrot, cut into thin strips with the peeler
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

for dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon wasabi powder
  • 2 liters of nori, cut - optional

Method of preparation :

Put the rice in a strainer and rinse it under cold water until it is clear.

Put the grains in a saucepan, pour the water, wait for it to boil on a high heat, then reduce the temperature and let the rice simmer for about 15-17 minutes until the liquid is absorbed. Remove the pan from the heat and leave the rice covered for about 5-10 minutes.

Combine the vinegar with 1 1/2 teaspoons of water, sugar and salt in a small bowl. Once the rice has cooled, pour the mixture into it and stir with a fork to taste.

Transfer it to a large serving bowl, trying to spread the rice in it so it can cool faster.

When it is completely cold, put the vegetables on top.

Cover with foil and store in the refrigerator.

When the salad is ready, prepare the dressing. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil and wasabi.

Just before serving, sprinkle with thinly sliced nori crusts (if using) and serve with the dressing, which is served in a separate bowl.
