Required products :

  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cold water
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1/4 tea cup slightly warm water
  • 4 1/2 - 5 tea cups white flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 broken egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Method of preparation :

Put the butter milk in a saucepan and heat. At the moment when bubbles form, remove from the heat and add the cold water.

Meanwhile, pour the dry yeast into warm water and leave for 10 minutes until it swells.

Once the yeast has activated and the milk mixture has reached a temperature of about 50 degrees, pour the milk over the yeast. Add sugar, egg, salt and 2 cups flour.

Stir with an electric mixer on low speed for 2 minutes. Then use a spatula or spoon and add 2 more cups of flour and stir until well absorbed.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead a soft, fluffy dough, gradually adding more flour.

Put the dough in a greased bowl and turn it once to cover the fat on all sides. Leave curled for 1 hour until doubled.

When you decide to use the dough, shape it and leave it to rise again for 45 minutes before moving on to baking.
