Required products :
1.5 teaspoons flour
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
pinch of salt
1 egg
125 grams butter
For the stuffing:
2 tablespoons sugar
150 grams poppy
1 egg yolk
100 grams of sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
juice of 1/2 lemon
500 grams of cream cheese
3 eggs
1 tablespoon starch
1 tablespoon powdered sugar for sprinkling
Method of preparation :
Sift the flour into a bowl with a pinch of salt. Add the butter, egg and sugar. Knead a soft dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Pour a large amount of hot water over the poppy seeds, place them on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil. Allow to cook on low heat for 10 minutes. Then strain and mix the poppy seeds with the sugar and yolk.
Grease a detachable form with oil, cover with a sheet of parchment. Roll out the dough in a circle 5 cm in diameter larger than the bowl. Put it in the form and pierce in several places with a fork.
Beat the cream cheese with the sugar, then gradually add the eggs, beating constantly. It's time for the lemon juice and peel, starch and mix everything until smooth.
Pour the poppy seeds on the dough, spread the cream on top. Cut off the excess dough that remains on the walls of the dish.
Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven on a water bath for about an hour.
Then open the oven and let the bread stand for another 30 minutes.
When you take it out, wait for it to cool to room temperature and put it in the fridge for 2-3 hours.
Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
