Required products :

  • 250 grams of unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 125 grams of powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 eggs, with separated yolks from whites
  • 250 grams of flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 110 grams of powdered sugar
  • 75 grams of candied orange peel

For orange syrup :

  • 250 milliliters of orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 145 grams of powdered sugar
  • 50 milliliters of orange liqueur

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees / 160 degrees with a fan /.
  • Grease a round cake tin with approximate dimensions of 24 cm and sprinkle with flour. Turn it over and tap the bottom to remove the excess.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla with a mixer.
  • Add the yolks and beat again until smooth.

  • Pour the dough into the form and smooth the surface with a spoon.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the toothpick comes out of the cake clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before turning it over on the tray.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the orange syrup by heating the orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir until the sugar dissolves and let the syrup simmer briefly until slightly thickened.
  • Remove from the heat, add the orange liqueur and stir again.
  • Slowly pour the hot cake with the hot syrup.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and allow to cool completely to room temperature.
  • Cut and serve with a smile! :)
