Required products :

2.5 teaspoons flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla sugar

1.5 teaspoons fine crystal sugar

3 teaspoons whipping cream

2.5 teaspoons cognac

3 tablespoons powdered sugar

350 grams of strawberries (or cherries)

vanilla to taste

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Grease the form in which you will bake the cake with oil.

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and granulated sugar. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites in a glass bowl until thick. Add the vanilla sugar to 1.5 cups of cream. Pour everything into the flour and mix gently.

From the dough, bake two or three loaves (30 minutes each), the number depends on the size of the dish you will use. Wait about 10 minutes before removing from the pan, then let cool completely on a wire rack.

Make a cream. Beat the remaining cream (which must be sufficiently cooled) on low speed until a firm foam is obtained. Continue beating, adding powdered sugar, cognac and vanilla to taste. Spread some of the cream on one loaf. Spread the strawberry pieces on it. Cover the top with the other loaf, repeat the procedure if you have baked three loaves. Apply the remaining cream on top. Spread on the sides of the cake.
