Required products :

  • 500 milliliters of water
  • 4 teaspoons flour
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of butter
  • 150 grams of walnuts
  • a pinch of saffron

Method of preparation :

Sift the flour and fry it until golden brown in the melted butter (about 6-7 minutes). Bring the water to a boil, pour in the sugar and cook for 10 minutes, stirring. Gradually add the flour and leave on the stove until the mixture thickens. Crush the walnuts into large pieces and put in the mixture together with the saffron. Stir and let the halva cook for another 4 minutes. Then, while it is still hot, pour it into a mold with a height of 2-3 centimeters. With the tip of a knife, draw diamonds on the surface and wait for the dessert to cool (3-4 hours at room temperature). Before serving, cut the halva into pieces along the outlined contours.
