For frying, they usually choose the white part of a leek or ordinary onions. Red or green onions are unlikely to be brought to a golden color and proper taste, so frying such varieties is not recommended. Perhaps the secret to properly frying onions is one - constant stirring. When it is laid out on hot oil in a frying pan, after a few seconds the pieces will become almost transparent, which means that it is time to constantly stir them. And in general, so that the onion does not burn out, it is better not to leave the stove.
It takes only a few minutes to fry onions of any variety. If you need to speed up the process, it is better not to do it on a fast fire, as the onion will not fry, become soft and will not acquire the desired taste. As a rule, after 10 minutes, the fried onion acquires the desired shade, which indicates its readiness.
